What works for me is to shut the CAM software down and then restart it. This doesn't always go smoothly: make sure the software is shut down completely (through task manager) before restarting the app (v3.7.4).
None of this should be necessary. The idea that something silly like day/night-mode was implemented before the software could peform it's most basic funtions would be laughable if it wouldn't affect me.
