  1. CAM devices have not been detected for months...

I'm starting to regret buying my NZXT CAM more and more every day... It has been months since I have been able to control them. They are just not being detected by the software. I've reinstalled different versions of CAM way too many times and rebooted my PC, but just NOTHING helps. Yes I have the latest version 3.5.90.
I wish I had never updated from CAM 3.2 and never updated the firmware, everything worked fine in late 2016, but after that it became worse and worse and more features started disappearing.

Please tell me that there is a remedy…

Hello Exalerion, I have emailed you several times trying to schedule a call with one of our devs but have not received any reply.

  2. CAM still not working.

CAM still not working, latest version. Been like this for 1 week. Kraken is not found. I can't change fans speed, light, nothing. I don't see any updates, nothing. Should i burn my kraken and buy something else?

Hello, here are some troubleshooting tips.
If you are using a Kraken X42/X52/X62/X72 and CAM is not detecting the device. You can try these troubleshooting steps.
Please go to the Devices Page and select “Detect Devices”
Please exit out of CAM and install this Kraken driver https://www.dropbox.com/s/ktdih3rifenohk4/Kraken%20chip%20Driver.zip?dl=0 then restart your PC and see if CAM detects the Kraken
Go into Control Panel and click on “View Devices and Printers” then remove the NZXT USB Device/Unknown USB Device and restart your PC. Then check CAM again.
If you still see a Unknown USB Device, then it seems that the USB cable is creating a bad connection to the motherboard. You can try using a different USB cable to check and see if the USB cable that came with the package is faulty. You can use a mini to regular USB cable and route it to the back of your case to…

The overlay requires DirectX Runtime to be installed.
Please install DX Runtime and then restart your PC and see if the overlay works. The link below will take you to the download site for the installer.
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

Also make sure that you have tried manually enabling the overlay with the short keys (Shift + O). These shortcut keys can be changed from settings in CAM as well.

If the instructions above does not work please let us know which games the overlay is not working on.

Also, some games have an anti-cheat mechanism which can sometimes conflict with the CAM FPS overlay. We are currently working to fix this issue with many companies, but it is a process which takes some time and communication between the developer and NZXT.

Hello, sorry for the inconvenience you are currently experiencing.

If you are using a Smart Device and CAM is detecting the device but the LEDs on the strips do not light up or is lighting up in abnormal colors.
Please be sure to check if all the strips are properly aligned. The arrow on the connection cable should be pointed to the 5V on the strip. If you are using any extension cables please check those as well.
Please try each strip individually and see if any of them are defective. Exit out of CAM, then unplug all the strips from the Smart Device. Then plug one strip into the Smart Device and start CAM. Check and see if the strip appears in CAM and the LEDs can be controlled. Repeat this for all the strips. If the strips are the issue, please contact our support team over

  5. Only the backlighting functionality is needed

And, most importantly, add the option of opting-out the collection of diagnostic data from video cards, temperatures, cooler speeds and all that. To me, for example, from your program, only the backlighting functionality is needed, and not yet a lot of garbage that I do not need, the work of which greatly increases the DPС Latency to 4000(!!!).

You need to add even more flexibility to your program. To fix bugs when autostart HUE + would also not prevent, and then, sometimes, the backlight itself does not work until you click on apply in the program.

    Thank you.

  6. Lighting and Fan tabs are gone from CAM app.

This is how it looks https://imgur.com/a/EsWOvm6

I cant control the fan speed anymore and is now stuck at a minimal speed. It causes my cpu to heat up quite fast. this app was good a while ago, but after the update has gone bad.

Hello J, sorry for the inconvenience you are currently experiencing.

If the lighting and fan tabs are not showing up, it’s because CAM is not detecting them. Try going to the Devices tab and pressing on Detect Devices. If this does not work, try disconnecting and reconnecting your fans or changing the cables. Finally, if this does not work either, please send us your PC specifications, including OS and Hardware, and the Logs which you can find in the following places so we can verify any logged issues:

    C:\Users\Public\Documents\CAM
    C:\Program Files (x86)\NZXT\CAM\Logs

Thank you for your cooperation and time.

Hello Kingston, sorry for the inconveniences you are currently experiencing.

Here are the possible solutions that have been provided to me.

    Smart Device LED Strips
If you are using a Smart Device and CAM is detecting the device but the LEDs on the strips do not light up or is lighting up in abnormal colors.
Please be sure to check if all the strips are properly aligned. The arrow on the connection cable should be pointed to the 5V on the strip. If you are using any extension cables please check those as well.
Please try each strip individually and see if any of them are defective. Exit out of CAM, then unplug all the strips from the Smart Device. Then plug one strip into the Smart Device and start CAM. Check and see if the strip appears in CAM and the LEDs can be controlled. Repeat this

  8. Calibration

Hello Caiden, sorry for the issues you are currently experiencing. Here are the solutions provided to me from our development team at the moment:

Please try each fan individually and see if any of them are defective. Exit out of CAM, then unplug all the fans from the HUE+. Then plug one fan into the HUE+, and start CAM. Check and see if the fan appears in CAM and the LEDs can be controlled. Repeat this for all the fans. If the fans are the issue, please contact our support team over at https://www.nzxt.com/customer-support to look for replacement fans. Please state how many fans you have that is defective.

Also try using a different connection cable to connect the fans to the HUE+. The connection cable can sometimes cause issues as well. If the fan connection cable is the issue, please contact our support team over at https://www.nzxt.com/customer-support

  10. 100% load on startup

    100% load on startup
I thought my gpu is dead after booting up to windows, ui is so laggy. I thought my ssd is dead too though I checked cam and it showed 100%gpu load on bootup but not on task manager. No gpu intensive apps where not running at the time. So I decided to uninstall it and reboot and it did it. No more ui lags like moving the mouse pointer shows lag, refreshing shows lag, etc.

  12. Kraken not detected...

Today i've changed from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I've said Microsoft had more than 2 years to fix most of the bugs.. I've thought everything will be better... but it isn't..
First problem is that CAM isn't detecting my Kraken.. Reinstalling and still same problem. CAM version is 3.5.90. On Windows 7 everything was just fine !

  14. I can't control the LED on my Krakern x52

I'm not sure if it's after CAM got updated or after Windows 10 had an update but I can't change my LED colour, as I don't have an option for it in the CAM software.

  16. Aer fan vanish and stop responding in CAM

My fans don't show up anymore. They did when i first installed it. Then CAM started opening on a ghost monitor, then they dont respond to controls unless I do sync all. Then they work. Then I click detect devices, and fans vanish. Then i reboot and they show up. Then they vanish and don't respond. Could it be the I device in the H400i? Thats the channel they are on. Currently have a HUE+ running the LED strips.

  17. Many new issues over the past week

Over the past week I have had a host of new issues pop up.

Installed a new LED strip off the mobo header and every time computer restarts / wakes up, it turns bright blue. Have to go into settings and flip the sync mode switch off and then on again to get it to turn purple as it is set to in sync mode. Also, out of sync mode it is actually set to orange, so no idea where this blue is coming from.

NZXT logo in Kraken cooler LED won't shut off in Sync mode

  18. Newst version of CAM causes windows to stop taking keyboard input

Every time I start my computer, CAM starts automatically.
Usually this hasn't been much of a problem(Not flawless), but ever since I installed the newest version, after a few minutes, winows won't take keyboard inputs and everything stops responding.
    Killing CAM solves this issue.
HOW can your software cause this much damage?
    Why doesn't CAM stop working?

  19. new update literally kills the PC.

after the latest update the PC literally locks any and all programs into not responding. had to reinstall and wipe my windows yesterday blaming the microsoft update, now i re installed the cam, works fine with the old setup i had downloaded. 20 minutes later did the update, pressed one key and the whole rig just goes nuts again. uninstalled cam and reset, everything is fine! please notice and fix this because your update literally seems to be doing more harm than a old 2001 youporn trojan. ty
