Hue+ 2 Channel on - Audio not smooth
I just bought the Hue+, mainly because of the Audio Visualisation with the RGB LED strips. It turns out, when I plug every 4 LED strips into channel 1 OR 2, it works fine, very smooth.
But when I plug in 2 LED strips each channel, so 2 LED strips on channel 1, and 2 LED strips on channel 2, the audio visualisation is not very smooth at all. At least not in comparison with the first method described above. It's very laggy, like playing with 20 fps, instead of 60.
It seems like the controller of HUE+ is overloaded with 2 channels working at the same time with the audio profile. The same problem occurs when 3 LED strips plugged into ch1 and 1 LED strip in ch2. And vice versa.
In addition: Let's say you have a 2 LED per channel combination, which is very laggy if both channels are turned on at the same time. IF you turn one channel off, the other channel left on just works fine and smooth, no matter which channel it is. But the channel turned off have these random LED flicker for some miliseconds, although they supposed to be turned off.
Keep in mind, all 4 LED strips are working fine in all other modes/profiles. Just the audio beta profile has some bugs as described above.
So I want to know if you guys from NZXT are aware of this problem? Are you working on a fix already? Because I'm not finding any solutions to this problem on the internet. Is my theory correct, that the HUE+ controller is overloaded with 2 channel turned on at the same time, and we will never get a audio mode working proberly with both channel on, no matter how much LED strips are connected to it?(Problem even occurs when 1 LED strip is connected to each channel) And when we're at it: What's the difference betwenn "Level" and "Gain" in Audio modes?
I would appreciate it if you could answer some/all of my questions.
Greetings from Germany
Still having the same issue on update 3.1.2018
The lights respond very "blocky/laggy"to the music

having the same issue, was realy looking forward to the audio option to work with my razer (chroma) gear. But the LED's are just to laggy (having 2 strips on each channel). I also would like an option to increase the amplitude. somehow audioprograms dont see to work well with my logitec 930 (the chroma visaluzier has problems with it as wel tough, but i can crank up the amplutde there)
I can do the same if needed but i am having the same problem even with the update
I have just sent you an email with a linked 3 min mp4 file in my dropbox.
Can you email me with a video recording of your issue? *****************
I have rechecked it, 3.2.04, which didn't apply with "check update" function, have fixed the random LED with one channel on, the other off.
Nethertheless if both channels are on, the audio mode is lagging hard.
Hey there, we definitely do not wish to ignore our community. However we would like to isolate the problem if we can get everyone up to date to the latest version because that is what we are currently working on. Our latest version is 3.2.04 and not 3.1.17. Try installing our latest version from camwebapp.com and see if you still exhibit the same behavior. If you do, you are more than welcome to open up another forum but in regards to the current version. Also on a side note, there was a firmware update for the HUE+ that was released along with the current version.
No please do not close this ticket, because this problem still occurs in the newest release of CAM 3.1.17! None of the issues described above has been fix yet, like the multi channel audio mode, or the random lightning led's when one channel is turned off.
Many users confirms it, you just can not ignore this by saying "due to this ticket being involved with our older version". It is STILL a problem.
Please don't ignore your community like that.
We hope this issue has been resolved. The following ticket will now be closed due to this ticket being involved with our older version. Please update to our newest version and see if you still exhibit the same behavior. Thank you.
Updated to 3.1.71 today, still same problem, no changes at all. Only some MSI Afterburner fix.
Audio beta since release, this thread started over 3 months ago, trying to make cam engineers prioritize this. Believe me, even though this thread has only 15+ ish comments and 35+ upvotes doesn't mean people don't care about this feature. A LOT of people are waiting for this and trusted you, when you announced to implement this feature as beta. Now month by month, please continue on this feature and complete it.
fan.ding announced on july 5th there will be optimizations, I'm looking forward to them since, in every update.
I am on the same boat as well still having this problem even with the newest update. Seriously it has been months now
I've updated to 3.1.62 and tested it. Still no change, same problem occurs as described above.
My hue audio would not work, all other modes worked. The thing with hue+ is it works off COM port, more specifically USB Serial Port. If you look under your device manager you will see USB Serial Port listed. This is in fact the controller for your hue+. If it is not there your hue+ is not installed properly. If it is but your audio mode will not work.... change to another mode in CAM. disable and re-enable the COM port in device manager. If your CAM is open at the time you should see the tab for the HUE + will disappear when disabled and re-appear when enabled. Once re-enabled select your hue+ mode as audio again and fingers crossed it will work. Works for me :D
Version 3.1.50 makes the audio mode working again, but still has the same issues as described in the main topic.
I can totally agree with Chad. I hope worst case scenario wont happen when NZXT announces: "We will discontinue supporting audio mode in HUE+ due to *insert whatever reason*". Because this mode is one of the main reason I bought this controller and I'm waiting for so long to NZXT update it.
Guys feel free to comment. What are your feelings about this? Are there any inofficial updates out there?
I think the latest update broke Audio mode for me entirely. It was working fine previously, but after updating doesn't seem to work at all.
I will say that a few days ago, it had sort of "locked up" and stopped responding in Audio mode. This has happened a lot in the past, and a reboot usually fixes it. This time when I rebooted, it prompted me for an update. So I thought "Why not?" Since update, audio mode no longer works. All the other modes work just fine.
Hey NZXT Community,
today I updated my CAM version to 3.1.43 and it completely destroys the audio mode. It's not working anymore, no matter how much I restart the program. Can anyone confirm? Can some staff member response to that please?
